Sailboat Grotesk began as an attempt to design a font to match the landscape and culture of the designer’s hometown, which is situated next to a lake in the mountains. Sailing, swimming, walking, and reading are common everyday activities. Aspiring to those sensibilities, Sailboat Grotesk is civilized but used to the outdoors. It is simple and sturdy, like old typewriters used in that area during the last century, but also is never too serious about itself.

Sailboat Grotesk is available in a single weight, suitable for print and web in both body and display text.
