Cumhuriyet Variable
Cumhuriyet means “form of government based on the sovereignty of the nation”. The reason why I gave this name to the font is that 2023 is the hundredth anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, founded by Atatürk. The multilingual Cumhuriyet includes Variable Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Hebrew alphabets. Cumhuriyet Variable includes weight, width and slant axes. The Weight values of the font are between 200-800, and the Slant axis is between 0-12. In addition, Cumhuriyet Variable has the feature of narrowing and expanding from the narrowest to the widest between UltraCompressed and ExtraExpanded, thanks to the width axis it contains. These features of the font are provided by 112 instances. Accordingly, the Cumhuriyet Variable font has the ability to display variable behavior that can be expressed in millions, due to its three axes. Cumhuriyet Variable, a geometric font, includes all the innovations and improvements that the Cumhuriyet font has gained in its second version. In this context, Cumhuriyet Variable includes regulations in terms of the space between letters (kerning), the space between words (tracking) and the space between lines (leading). In addition, the font has been given a more stable and aesthetic structure thanks to the renewed designs and settings of most glyphs, especially Arabic fonts. Cumhuriyet Variable also includes many opentype features: They can be listed as follows:
