A twelve font family. This contains every font in the LTC Caslon Family.
William Caslon cut his first typefaces in 1720. For almost 300 years various versions of the Caslon faces have come in and out of style, but always seem to be regarded as a classic type style suitable for many uses; thus the famous quip: “When in doubt, use Caslon”.
In remastering this font for release in 2005, the characters have been completely redrawn based upon the 14pt font for hand composition. This design is closer in spirit to the original Caslon. The original Monotype version from 1915 was offered with long and short descenders. LTC Caslon comes in both variants—the regular fonts featuring short descenders and fonts designated as “long” have the longer descenders.
