Web Fonts are a unique challenge. In order to use fonts on the web, they should be small, targeted for specific browsers and hinted to improve rendering. Fontspring has been a leading innovator in creating and selling optimized web fonts. We pioneered technology to convert desktop OpenType into fully-hinted, optimized and secure Truetype-based web fonts. We also formulated the globally-accepted @font-face CSS syntax that provides reliable cross-platform web fonts to browsers. Thanks to our technology, web fonts are affordable and reliable for everyone. Download one of our many free web fonts at www.fontspring.com/free to discover the difference.

Nearly all of the families offered on Fontspring can be purchased for unlimited use on websites you own. Some foundries offer licenses limited by pageviews for average and above average website traffic. Fontspring does not require any tracking scripts to be installed with the web fonts. Nearly all of our web fonts are available with unlimited licenses, and all of our licenses are perpetual. Most of our pageview limits start at half a million... which is so high it won't apply to a majority of websites. If your website recieves more than 500,000 pageviews per month, you can purchase a higher limit, or an unlimited license. Limits can be adjusted in your cart. If you aren’t sure what pageviews are, or what limit you should purchase, you can read our pageviews FAQs. Be sure to contact us if you have any questions.
By default Fontspring delivers WOFF and WOFF2 font files, the new standard for use on the web. When combined in a @font-face declaration, you can target all the browsers listed below.
If you purchase a web font license, you will receive a special web-ready package that has the web font formats and code you need to target all major browsers. Each set includes:
If you need to support older browsers, you can still get web font packages that include older font formats like TTF, EOT, and SVG. For most customers, using these older web font formats is no longer necessary.

Web fonts can be downloaded in a variety of language packs. Our current system will peek into a font and determine which languages the font supports. If it finds a match, you will be able to download it. You can also browse fonts by language.
All the web fonts we offer have been auto-hinted for quality rendering. This specifically applies to Windows browsers which require fonts to be hinted. Unhinted fonts may look jagged or blurry. Each font family page has a web font demo tab that shows the actual web font embedded in the page. You can use this to preview in various browsers before you purchase.
Most of our Web font licenses are identical. If they aren't, they have the same nuts and bolts. Each font family page has a license tab that shows the actual licenses for the Foundry. Below is a link to a typical web font license. If you have other usages that you don’t think are covered, contact us, we can negotiate custom licenses for your needs.
