Southern Railway

Designed by Octavio Osores and Fabio Ares, Southern Railway is a sans serif font family published by Fabio Ares.

Recovery of the letter used by the Ferrocarril Sud on its platform signs (c. 1925). The font, which was originally called FCSud, belongs to the typographic archeology project called “Tipografía Histórica Ferroviaria” carried out jointly with Octavio Osores, starting in 2012. The main objective of the works included in this foundry is that they transcend borders and be used in other latitudes as a way to vindicate Argentine visual culture. What is collected through the commercialization of the typefaces destined to finance the investigations.
